Acheta domestica. Crickets are excellent nutrition for reptiles, fish and birds. But also smaller insectivorous mammals, such as rodents and garden hedgehogs, eat crickets. Also available as a frozen product. Crickets in plastic buckets can be stored in the packaging provided. If you order bulk in a cardboard box, we advise you to move the crickets to a closed container with smooth sides (made of synthetic material or glass) and wire mesh on top. The recommended dimensions of the container are approx. 30 x 20 cm (L x W x H) per potion in a cardboard box. The cardboard box includes egg trays, but it may be necessary to add more to the box they are moved into or cardboard tubes from toilet rolls. This is to give them as much surface area as possible. It is also important that they can hide a little when they change their litter.

For the Crickets: Crickets are shipped with enough food to arrive at your house in good condition. You can keep crickets for several days if you put a small piece of carrot or apple in the box to keep them moist. If you want them to last longer, you can use oatmeal or buy the insect food that we sell on this page. As for liquid, you can use apple, carrot, cucumber, water crystals, or make a small container with a disposable cloth in it that can absorb liquid from the container. It is important that the container with water closes tightly, as crickets will die and contaminate the water if they fall into the water. Use: Wild insectivores enjoy a varied menu that provides them with an appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals. Almost all insectivores need calcium for their bone structure. Insects, including farmed ones, have a low calcium content. Therefore, it is recommended to add a high-quality calcium supplement to the diet of your insectivore.
