About this product

Zophobas larvae-Zophobas morio is also called giant mealworm. Mealworms, zophobas larvae and rice mealworms are all in the family of mealworms and are very similar to each other, except for the obvious size difference. Especially if you compare rice mealworms with zophobas larvae, it is an elephant and a mouse. Zophobas larvae is a beetle larva, and if it is allowed to pupate, it will become an approx. 35 mm black beetle. The beetle is not particularly suitable for food, this applies to the mealworm family in general, as they have some glands as a defense that secrete a foul-tasting liquid. This is especially evident in the zophobas beetle, where you can actually see a milky white juice, in the form of 2 white dots when it is disturbed.
