The Galapagos land iguana has a primarily herbivorous diet. They mainly eat leaves, fruits, and flowers such as prickly pear cactus, shrubs and guava tree leaves. They are also known to occasionally eat insects, centipedes and carrion, but these make up only a small portion of their diet.
